Cancer is the leading cause of death in the EU, with 2.7M diagnoses and 1.3M deaths in 2020. Effective removal of cancerous tissue through endoscopic surgery is challenging because of limited visual and absent tactile information, along the limitations of current imaging technologies, which make it difficult for surgeons to differentiate between different types of tissue.
