Description
The main objective of the Erasmus Mundus Design Measures is to encourage the development of new, innovative, high-level integrated transnational study programmes at Master level. These design measures should involve Erasmus Mundus under-represented (a) EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme, and/or (b) institutions from these countries, and/or (c) thematic areas (see Erasmus Mundus Catalogue).
Erasmus Mundus Design Measures should enhance the capacities of universities to modernise and internationalise their curricula and teaching practices, pool resources, and for higher education systems to develop common mechanisms related to quality assurance, accreditation and recognition of degrees and credits. The support is also intended to explore and exploit the opportunities offered by the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes. Based on the high degree of jointness/integration among the participating institutions, such integrated transnational programmes should contribute to the integration and internationalisation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

2.1.4 “Cost effectiveness and financial management”: it is not applicable for prefixed Lump Sum Grants
2.1.5 “Risk management”: it is not necessary to present critical risks and risk management strategy
2.2.2 “Consortium management and decision-making mechanisms: (if applicable)”: is not applicable.
5.1 "Ethics" and 5.2 "Security": are not applicable.
For the following sections, please read the instructions carefully:
1.2 “Needs analysis and specific objectives”: it is not necessary to describe a sound needs analysis and to define indicators for measuring achievement. However, please address the specific conditions set out in the Programme Guide, and the sub-criteria under “Relevance”.
2.1.2 "Project management, quality assurance and monitoring and evaluation strategy": it is not necessary to describe evaluation methods and indicators to monitor the outreach and coverage. However, please address the specific conditions set out in the Programme Guide and the sub-criteria under “Quality of the project design and implementation”.
2.1.3 "Project teams, staff and experts": it is not necessary to provide the CVs.
4.2 "Work packages, activities, resources and timing":
- Erasmus Mundus Design Measures provide low value grants. Therefore, please use only one single work package to describe the planned activities.
- Milestones are not needed for Erasmus Mundus Design Measures projects. The section on milestones can be left empty.
